The love of winter sports in Vall de Núria has its origins in the year 1908. During the winter season, Vall de Núria changes its landscape and adapts its activities to the snow, turning thus into a familial and cozy ski resort. It has all necessary services available: a ski school with qualified instructors, mountain guides and expert trainers, ski material for rent, and a 24-hour medical attention service.
Vall de Núria ski resort is equipped with snow making cannons that ensure at least 6.6 km out of the 7.6 km skiable surface. There are 11 ski slopes: 3 green, 3 blue, 3 red, and 2 black ones. The resort is also equipped with 5 lifts: one cable car that works all-year-round and that accesses the youth hostel Pic de l’Àliga, the Pala chairlift, the platter lifts Cabana dels Pastors and Finestrelles and one conveyor belt. It also has a playing area with two conveyor belts, three sledge slopes and two ‘tubbys’ (plastic tracks). In addition, it’s equipped with a snow park and a Border Cross.
The ski school, the mountain guides, the playing area, and all the additional services make that, in the winter, the activities related to snow acquire a different sense and allow us to enjoy all the alternatives adapted to any age or level. Alpine skiing, ski touring, outings with snowshoes, and an area for sledges and tubbys, are some of the activities Vall de Núria offers during this season, when the snow becomes a basic element.
